Faster Pastor and Three Divisional Racing Program Called Off

May 30, 2011 at 11:30 AM

The racing program slated for Monday afternoon and evening, May 30, 2011 at the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex was called off due to continued wet grounds at the Western New York facility.

"It would have been a 50/50 proposition going into the morning to start with," stated General Manager Tim Bennett, "but the late night Sunday thunderstorms dropped another inch and a half to two inches of rain, and the water from Saturday that had disappeared filled right in again. It's frustrating."

The program was to have featured the annual Faster Pastor race, in which area ministers and preachers compete in Speedway provided four cylinder cars in fund-raising efforts for their home congregations and their charitable works. The Bank of Holland Chargers, 4-cylinder Hornets, and INEX Legends were to have rounded out the schedule.

The Faster Pastor race has been re-scheduled to Saturday, June 18th, which is already slated to be Bank of Holland Kids Day. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00, and the Faster Pastor event will begin at 5:00. The annual Bank of Holland "Gold Rush" (the penny hunt for the youngsters) will follow the Faster Pastor race, with a full slate of NASCAR racing rounding out the action. On the 18th, the racing program will feature a 50 lap special for the Bank of Holland Chargers, along with the NASCAR National Overhead Door Pro Modifieds, Late Models of Tomorrow, Casey’s TQ Midget Series, 4-cylinder Hornets, and the M&M U-Pull-It Figure 8 Cars. The INEX Legends are next slated to visit Holland on July 9th.

Saturday, June 4th will feature the first 2011 Car Warz/Crash-A-Rama, the "Wildest Show on Wheels." Gates will open at 4:00, with action getting underway at 6:30. The regular Saturday evening NASCAR divisions will return to action at Holland on Saturday, June 11th.
