The 56th consecutive season of racing in the hills of Holland is just a few months away and speedway management has put the final touches on the 2015 schedule as well as the 2015 rule book. Both are available for download by logging onto www.hollandspeedway.com. The season will officially kick off with the annual Registration Party set for Sunday, March 1 at the Holland Willows. Speedway officials will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. You can register car numbers and purchase NASCAR and Holland licenses and sign up for pit pads and priority gold passes.

“Thunder in the hills” will be returning to the historic Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex when the 56th consecutive season of racing gets underway on Saturday, May 23. The 2015 campaign officially kicked off with the Registration Party at the Holland Willows on March 1. Speedway General Manager Tim Bennett introduced Norm Frazier as the new Chief Tech Inspector. Norm has worked on several top Late Model teams at Holland over the years including Bobby Weber and the brother duo of Vern and Mark Bliss. Both Vern and Mark Bliss went on to win the New York State NASCAR Championships with Norm by their side. “His experience will make him a great addition to the Holland team” stated Bennett. Frazier will be busy during the tracks pre-season thunder Practice Session on Saturday, May 16 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 18, 2015) — Each year NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity initiative and its competition arm, Rev Racing, seek to obtain the highest quality of applicants representing the most diverse backgrounds and develop them into successful NASCAR drivers. This selection process begins with the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. Beginning with the 2015 selection process, the application window for the Drive for Diversity Combine will be open year-round, allowing for drivers to update their résumé throughout the season with their latest successes and up-to-date results.
The Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex would like to announce the addition of the INEX Legends and E-Mods to the schedule, as both will be competing on the historic highbanks throughout the 2015 season. The exciting INEX Legends will be racing at Holland a total of 10 times in 2015. They will be racing on May 23 and 30, June 6 and 20, July 18 and 25, August 8, 22, 29, and September 5. Bliss, NY standout Jeremy Haudricourt swept both INEX Legends events at Holland in 2014. Racing at Holland for the first time will be the E-Mods. This division comes to Holland from Lake Erie Speedway as they switched racing formats in 2015. They will be racing on the 3/8th oval starting on June 6. They will be joining the card on June 20, July 18 and August 8.

The Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex is pleased and excited to announce the addition of Seneca Resorts and Casinos to their new lineup of marketing partners for the 2015 racing season. 2015 is on track to be one of the biggest and most diverse seasons yet! Seneca Niagara Casino’s impact and presence will be immediately felt throughout the entire track. As the cars are set to take to the historic highbanks in little over a month, it will be the Seneca Niagara Casino NASCAR Late Models leading the charge. Racing fans from the surrounding area will quickly see and feel this new partnership as they enter the facility. The seating area located in turns one and two will be now known as the Seneca Resorts and Casino Tower. From trackside and grandstand signs to vendor displays announcing the group’s concerts, events and casino specials throughout the entire season, Seneca Resorts and Casinos will now be a huge part of the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex. Casino goers will find a bundle of savings awaiting them at the track as well. Seneca Players Club members will receive FREE admission to any regular race event all summer long!
Third generation driver Jimmy Zacharias from Candor, NY was declared the winner of the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance NASCAR Pro Modifieds main event on Saturday night as McKinley Mall presented the 56th Season Opener at the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex. Ken Maltby from West Seneca, NY earned his first Bank of Holland Charger feature victory for the first time since June 24, 1989. Holland, NY’s Eric Brown used a last lap pass to pick up his first career Seneca Niagara Casino Late Model feature event. Buffalo, NY’s Louis Carbone won the main event for the Howdy’s Hornets. Dave Wollaber from North Tonawanda, NY earned the victory for the NYPA TQ Midgets. Matt Kurzejewski from Mansfield, Pennsylvania won the main event for the INEX Legends. Chuck Kowalske from Orchard Park, NY won the first race of the season for the Future Fours. Jason Adams from Glenwood, NY won the main event for the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s.

The 27th running of “The Wildest Show on Wheels”, Carwarz Crash-A-Rama entertained the capacity crowd that was packed inside the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex on Saturday evening. John Grandits picked up $4000 in winning the Enduro event. Marty Bryske won the eventful School Bus Figure 8 race. Tyler Haniszewski picked up the win in the Demolition Derby

Orchard Park, NY’s Patrick Emerling was victorious in the Race of Champions (RoC) Modified Tour feature event in their annual visit to the Holland Motorsports Complex on Saturday evening. The race was called completed on lap 97 due to time constraints. Third generation driver Jimmy Zacharias from Candor, NY earned his second Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Modified feature of the 2015 season. Mark Hoch from West Seneca, NY earned the win in the Bank of Holland Chargers. Timmy Catalano from Ontario, NY picked up his first feature win on the season in the 4 Cylinder Hornets. Kyle Hutchinson from East Aurora, NY would earn his first feature win of 2015 in the Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets. “The Hotshoe” Chuck Hossfeld and tour regular Brian DeFebo shared the front row for the RoC 100 with Hossfeld showing the way over DeFebo with TJ Potrzebowski in third. The first caution came out on lap one as Chris Risdale had hard contact with the front stretch wall. Tyler Rypkema and Mike Leaty made visits to the pits with both being able to come back onto the speedway. The early restart would see Hossfeld back into the lead as Tony Hanbury and Patrick Emerling racing their way into the top five. Hossfeld, DeFebo and Potrzebowski started to pull away from Hanbury and Emerling. Mike Leaty would pull out of action early on after suffering a broken axel on his Leaty Autosport number 25. Entering the race, Leaty was fourth in the RoC Point Standings.
Holland Motorsports Complex and Holland Paintball Adventure Park continues to thrive in putting together team-building exercises and corporate outings throughout the calendar year. The race track along, with the Paintball Park offers different packages to help plan your next outing. During the recent Buffalo Sabres Player Development Camp, players including second overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft Jack Eichel experienced a team-building exercise at the Holland Paintball Adventure Park. “It is a good bonding experience” stated prospect Evan Rodrigues. Bill Osborn from Darien, NY earned his first career feature win in the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models. Eric Brown from Holland, NY earned his first Bank of Holland NASCAR Charger feature of the season. Josh Hill from Irving, NY won his first Hornets feature of the season. Dave Wollaber from North Tonawanda, NY out-raced Kyle Hutchinson to earn the victory in the Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets. Brandon DeBrakeleer from Mill Village, Pennsylvania picked up the victory in the INEX Legends feature event. Scott Wylie from Hamburg, NY earned his second E-Mod victory of the season. Joe Mastrocicco III from Lackawanna, NY picked up the victory in the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s. DJ Phillips from Angola, NY picked up the feature for the Future 4’s.

Tommy Catalano from Ontario, NY picked up the win the Mid-Season Championship event for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency Pro Modifieds. Eldon King III from Freedom, NY earned his first victory of the season in the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models. Dave Wilson Jr from Hamburg, NY was credited with the victory in the Bank of Holland Chargers. Timmy Catalano from Ontario, NY earned his second win of the season in the Hornets. Westfield, NY’s Carl Vilardo IV drove on to his first victory of the season for the INEX Legends. DJ Phillips from Angola, NY earned his third consecutive victory for the Future Fours. Jason Adams from Glenwood, NY earned another victory for the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s.
Tommy “the Rocket” Catalano from Ontario, NY won one of the biggest races of his young career by picking up the Perpetual Trophy after winning the 16th running of the George Decker Memorial Pro Modified 100 for the Getzoni Agency NASCAR Pro Modifieds at the Holland Motorsports Complex on Saturday evening. For Catalano, it was his fourth consecutive victory. Freedom NY’s Eldon King III grabbed the win in the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models. Holland, NY’s Eric Brown crossed the finish line in the Bank of Holland Charger feature. The finish is unofficial pending a technical review. Jeff Szafraniec from Akron, NY won the Hornet main event. Kyle Hutchinson from East Aurora, NY won the main event for the Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets. DJ Phillips from Angola, NY grabbed the win in the Future Four.

Heading into the final points night of the season, Tommy Catalano holds a 26 point margin over his mother, defending divisional champion Amy Catalano and third generation driver Jimmy Zacharias in the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Modifieds. In the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models, Eric Brown leads Brandon Glover by just one marker, making it one of the closest points battles all season long! The Bank of Holland Chargers point standings sees past divisional titlist Tom Northem lead Kris Hamann by three points and veteran racer Ken Maltby by 10. Past Hornet champion Jeff Szafraniec leads Dice Racing teammate Ben Russo by 62 points and Timmy Catalano by 67 going into the racing action on Saturday night. Kyle Hutchinson currently sits on top of the points standings for the Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets. Jeremy Haudricourt is the points leader in the INEX Legends. DJ Phillips holds a 14 point margin over Nikki Maltby in the Future 4’s. Jason Adams holds an 18 point lead over Shane Toms in the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s.

While Zacharias was celebrating a race win, Ontario, NY’s Tommy Catalano won his first career Holland Pro Modified championship. Brandon Glover from Cuba, NY won his third Seneca Niagara Casino Late Model feature of the season and clinched the track championship in the process. Eric Brown from Holland, NY won the main event for the Bank of Holland Chargers while Alden, NY pilot Tom Northem collected the track championship. Jeff Szafraniec from Buffalo, NY won his fourth Hornet feature of the season and would earn the track title. Dave Wollaber from North Tonawanda, NY won the main event for the Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets while Kyle Hutchinson from East Aurora, NY was crowned the 2015 Holland track champion. Race night's this season will feature a 30 minute time period for drivers to meet our fans. Heats will now begin at 6:00pm with feature races starting at 7:05pm.
