Holland Returns to Action with Firefighter Family Night

Racing will return to the Holland Motorsports Complex on Saturday August 22nd as VSP presents Fire Fighter Family night and a nine division NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing program. All Western New York Firefighters can call VSP at 716-674-7446 for FREE admission tickets for you and your family.

 

It is also Buffalo & Erie County Public Library night at the races. Fans can pick up their FREE tickets by stopping by their area Public Library.  Encouraging children to read is a big initiative of the Buffalo & Erie Country Libraries, and reading 2 books will get children a FREE race ticket, and reading 1 will get them $5 admission!

 

As part of the racing program on Saturday evening, the Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club will make its annual visit to the highbanks and will join the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance NASCAR Pro Modifieds, Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models, Bank of Holland Chargers, Hornets, Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets, INEX Legends, Future 4’s and the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s. Racing action that evening will kick off with qualifying heats at 5:00pmwith feature racing taking the green flag at 7:05pm. Winners of the Late Model, Hornets and Future 4 features will be receiving tools from Ingersoll Rand, the Official Power Tool of NASCAR.

At 6:50pm, there will be the pre-race parade. Fire Companies are encouraged to bring one “smaller” truck for the parade and as many trucks as they wish to park on the midway and outside the ticket gate for display. Those wishing to participate in the parade and have a display are urged to call the Holland Motorsports Complex offices at 716-418-RACE.

The racing program on Saturday August 8th saw Tommy Catalano of Ontario, NY continue his hot streak on the highbanks after winning his sixth Pro Modified feature of the season, and fifth in a row. As part of the five consecutive wins for “The Rocket” it included sweeping both Twin-25 lap features as well as capturing the 16th George Decker Memorial 100. In the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models, Brandon Glover of Cuba, NY took home the checkered flag for the second time in 2015. The competitive Bank of Holland Chargers saw Eric Brown of Holland, NY pick up the feature victory. The Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets main event was won by East Aurora, NY’s Kyle Hutchinson. Jeremy Haudricourt from Bliss, NY won the INEX Legends main event. Timmy Catalano won his third Hornet victory of the season and Maddy Virts, the newest member of the Catalano Motorsports team won her first career race in the Future 4’s. Carter Mook won the E-Mod feature for his first career Holland triumph  and Shane Toms won the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8 car main event.
