Holland Returns to Action with Race of Champions Modified Tour 100

HOLLAND, NY… When the Holland NASCAR Motorsports Complex roars back to life on Saturday July 11, the heart-pounding Race of Champions (RoC) Modified Tour will be taking center stage for the running of the annual Holland 100.

Second generation driver Andy Jankowiak from Tonawanda, NY passed past RoC Tour Champions Matt Hirschman from Northampton, Pennsylvania and Ransomville, NY driver “The Hotshoe” Chuck Hossfeld on his way to collect the victory, his first career RoC triumph in last year’s exciting event.

Heading into the 100 lap assault on the highbanks, Western New York young gun Patrick Emerling is the current RoC Tour points leader. He leads Hossfeld by 10 points with Hirschman just one point behind Hossfeld. Williamson, NY driver Mike Leaty is fourth in points while Andy Jankowiak is fifth in the standings. Tony Hanbury, Rusty Smith, TJ Potrzebowski, Tyler Rypkema and George Skora III sit sixth through tenth in the overall standings.

 

Western New York standouts Bobby Holmes, Sam Fullone, Karl Hehr and Kirk Totten are expected to be on hand to tame the highbanks. Holland Pro Modified regulars and RoC racers Amy and Tommy Catalano alongside past track champions George Skora III, Andy Jankowiak will be trying to defend home turf against the rest of the RoC tour competitors.

As part of the RoC spectacular on the highbanks, the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Modifieds, Bank of Holland Chargers, 4 Cylinder Hornets and the Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets will all be in competition. Pit gates will swing open at 2:30pm. Grandstand gates will swing open at 4:00pm with racing getting underway at 6:00pm sharp.
