Jimmy Zacharias from Candor, NY won the main event for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Pro Modifieds on VSP Firefighter Family Night and Buffalo and Erie County Public Library Night at the races at Holland Motorsports Complex presented by Kishel’s Scents and Lures, and the Seneca Niagara Casino. Eldon King III from Freedom, NY won the main event for the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models. Eric Brown from Holland, NY won his third Bank of Holland Chargers feature of the season. Jeff Szafraniec from Buffalo, NY won his third Hornet feature of the 2015 campaign. Jeremy Haudricourt from Bliss, NY won his third event on the season for the INEX Legends. Maddy Virts from Fairport, NY earned her second consecutive victory in the Future 4’s. Don Haskell from Blasdell, NY won an eventful M&M U Pull-It Figure 8 car feature. Jim Musto from Lockport, NY won the Vintage Car exhibition event.
Jimmy Zacharias and Amy Catalano were on the front row for the 35 lap main event for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Pro Modifieds and it was Zacharias jumping into the lead with Shawn Nye passing Amy Catalano to take over second place with Tommy Catalano passing Amy to move into third. Zacharias, who entered the weekend fourth in the National NASCAR standings, started to pull away from the field as Tommy Catalano would pass Nye to take over second on lap nine. The closest battle on the track was for fifth place as TJ Zacharias was holding off challenges from Connor Sellars and Zack Curren. As the leaders hit lap traffic, Tommy Catalano would catch Zacharias and would start to mound up challenges to the third generation superstar from the Southern Tier of New York. Catalano would go underneath Zacharias and would go side by side and Catalano would edge his way out front with seven laps remaining, Connor Sellars spun in turn two to bring out the caution with just two laps remaining, setting up a two lap shootout. Off the restart Zacharias would regain the lead as Tommy Catalano spun in turn two. Zacharias would drive on to collect the victory, his third Holland triumph of 2015.
Josh Hathaway and Nick Crassi led the Late Models to the green flag and it was Crassi jumping into the lead. Moving up through the field was “The Empire Excavator” Eldon King III. King would race past Hathaway for second and then went to work on former divisional champion Nick Crassi for the lead. King would complete the pass on Crassi on lap 13. King would pull away from Crassi and would go on to score his third win of the season. Crassi would finish in second and was followed by Hathaway, JD Roberts and Eric Brown completing the top five.
Jim Loffredo and Kris Hamann led the Bank of Holland Chargers to the green flag for their feature event and it was Hamann showing the way early on. Multi-time feature winner Eric Brown was on the move since the drop of the green flag and quickly moved into second with Hamann leading the stout field of Chargers around the historic Holland highbanks. As the leaders would hit lap traffic, Brown would make his move and would pass Hamann to move into the lead. With Brown and Hamann continuing to pull away from the rest of the field, veteran racer Ken Maltby would race his way into third and would begin reeling in the lead duo. Brown would pull away from both Hamann and Maltby in the late going to pick up the victory. ”The car was on rails tonight” stated Brown in victory lane. Hamann would finish in second and was followed to the line by Maltby, Tom Northem and Max Northem.
Adam Killingbeck and Mandie Orr shared the front row for the Hornets feature event with Orr having issues and causing most of the field to stack up with Alex Deshaies getting the worst of the incident as he went for a wild ride in turn three. Alex climbed out of his racer under his own power and drove his car to the pit area. The restart would see Killingbeck and Butcher Palmer on the front row with Palmer racing into the lead with Michele Maltby moving into second with George Anthony and Timmy Catalano racing in the top four. Maltby would pass Butcher out of turn two to take over the lead on lap two with Anthony in second and Catalano moving into third. Catalano would challenge Anthony and would take over second on lap six with Bob Bogner in fourth and current points leader Jeff Szafraniec racing in fifth. Bogner would pass Anthony for third and Szafraniec would follow Bogner to take over fourth place. The top four cars would pull away from fifth place running Ben Russo and would hit lap traffic by the midway point. Jeff Szafraniec would pass Catalano and Bogner to move into second and would begin to chase down race leader Michele Maltby. Szafraniec would catch Maltby and the lead duo would put on a great battle for the lead and Szafraniec would take over the lead with five laps remaining. Szafraniec would drive on to score the win over Bogner with Maltby, Catalano and Russo completing the top five.
Owen Bednasz and Charlie DiRosa brought the field of Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets to the green flag and it was Bednasz showing the way over Vinnie Christiano Jr in second with Nick Groff and Dave Wollaber racing in the top four early on. Kyle Hutchinson would move into the top five after starting mid-pack and would race his way into second after Dave Wollaber passed Groff and Bednasz to move into the race lead. Wollaber and Hutchinson would spend several circuits going side by side, exchanging the race lead several times. Hutchinson would finally clear Wollaber for the lead with less than eight laps remaining. The races first caution would come out after Chris Bauman and Jim Fleischman came together exiting turn two. The restart would see Hutchinson and Wollaber leading the field over Jonathan Reid, Andy Nye and Nick Groff in the top five. The restart saw Hutchinson and Wollaber battle for the win as Wollaber would regain the lead on the final circuit. Jonathan Reid spun in turn one on the final lap to bring out the caution, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. The final circuit saw Hutchinson go underneath Wollaber to take over the lead. Hutchinson would score the win over Wollaber, Andy Nye, Shawn Nye and Nick Groff would complete the top five.
Carl Vilardo and Owen Bednasz led the INEX Legends to the green flag for their feature event with Bednasz jumping into the early lead. The races first caution came out on lap two as Josh Marchese and Patrick Lyden came together in turn three. Both cars went to the pit area after both suffered damage to their racers. The early restart would see Bednasz and Vilardo continue their battle for the lead as Bryce Norton would pass Matt Mead to move into third place. Vilardo would clear Bednasz for the lead on lap six as Jeremy Haudricourt would move into the top four after passing Mead. Bryce Norton, while running in third in turn one to bring out the caution. Owen Bednasz and Matt Mead spun on the back stretch and race leader Carl Vilardo spun in turn three to bring out the caution. Vilardo appeared to blow the motor and had an oil issue that caused three of the top six to spin to cause the caution on lap 12, handing the lead over to Jeremy Haudricourt. Norton and Mead were able to rejoin the field for the restart. The restart saw Pat Judson race his way passed Brad Salatino to move into second and Bryce Norton moved back up through the field to take over second from Judson with six laps remaining. Norton would catch Haudricourt and would mount a challenge in the final five circuits but Haudricourt was able to hold off Norton to grab the win.
Maddy Virts and Chuck Kowalske led the Future 4’s to the green flag for their 12 lap feature event and Virts was able to clear Kowalske for the lead at the end of the first scored lap. DJ Phillips would pass Nikki Maltby for third and went right to work on Kowalske for second place as Virts would pull away out front. Phillips would pass Kowalske for second with four laps remaining. Virts would pull away to her second victory of the season.
Shane Toms jumped in front of Bob Bogner at the start of the feature event for the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s. Bogner would challenge Toms for the lead. Toms had issues with the front end and came to a stop right in the X coming to the white flag and Jason Adams made contact with Toms, and Don Haskell would drive right around everyone and would inherit the lead and drove on to score the win.
Jim Musto and John Alford led the Midstate Vintage Cars to green with Musto showing the way. Musto, driving a “Marvelous” Merv Treichler tribute coupe would hold off Alford for score the win. Chic Voit would round out the field in their 10 lap exhibition event. Voit was credited with the Sportsman division win with Musto winning the Modified class.

The Getzoni Nationwide Insurance NASCAR Pro Modifieds will be joined by the Seneca Niagara Casino Late Models, Bank of Holland Chargers, Hornets, Jerry Gradl Motors NYPA TQ Midgets, INEX Legends, M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s. Pit gates will swing open at 3:00pm with grandstand gates opening at 4:45pmand qualifying races will begin at 5:00pm with NASCAR racing immediately following qualifying.
