Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Pro Chargers

HOLLAND, NY… Over the course of the last 57 years here at Holland, we have made countless changes to scheduling, race divisions, fan amenities, racing rules, and much more in a never ending effort to keep our track successful, our drivers safe, and our fans enthused. As we rocket ahead to opening day on Saturday, May 28, the final touches have been made to our 2016 Event Schedule. As announced shortly after the New Year, our Getzoni Nationwide Pro Chargers will lead the charge as our premier top division this season.

As a part of being named our headliner, this division will be competing for a $10,000 Season Ending Points Fund, and an invitation to NASCAR’s private Awards Banquet and Dinner in Charlotte in November. In an addition, drivers will be to be competing for New York State and National Championships. “Some of our best car counts for the past decade have come from our Charger division” noted speedway General Manager Tim Bennett, “it’s time we reward those drivers and re-calibrate their local connection in conjunction with our brand new NASCAR Hometown Heroes driver recognition program.”

With the final schedule taking form, six Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Pro Charger races will be 25 lap “Twin Races,” with seven standard one race features.  In addition, the Pro Chargers will race a 50 lap feature as part of the Busch 100 on Saturday, September 3. We will continue to evaluate the success of the six “Twin” race nights throughout the course of the season, and increase or decrease the number based on driver and fan feedback. “Stepping into uncharted territory like this takes confidence and creativity, and we are confident in the connection that will grow between our drivers and fans”. Continuing to grow the auto racing fan base through local partnerships, local drivers, and their hometowns will help create new fans within the younger generations, and reward the old faithful. NASCAR in your own backyard since 1967…let’s do this.
